To provide the electronic withdrawal function required by law (Directive (EU) 2023/2673), we use the Shopify app "EU Widerrufsbutton" (EU Withdrawal Button) provided by 401layers UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Dorothea-Erxleben-Straße 1a, 40721 Hilden, Germany. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contractual relationship), Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with a legal obligation), and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (operation and security of the form).
We have entered into a data processing agreement with the provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Processing generally takes place within the European Union or the European Economic Area. To provide the app, the provider uses sub-processors, in particular Shopify International Ltd. (Ireland), Amazon Web Services (processing location Frankfurt, region eu-central-1), Vercel Inc. GDPR (in particular the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Withdrawal requests are automatically deleted from the provider's system after the configured retention period expires, and in any event no later than 30 days after uninstallation of the app; beyond this, we retain the data as required by statutory retention obligations. Further information can be found in the provider's privacy policy at euwiderrufsbutton.de/privacypolicy.

Transfer of Order Data to Our Learning Platform, KS Academy
When you place an order in our shop, the order data of all paid orders (name, email address, order number, and the items ordered) is automatically transmitted, for technical reasons, to our learning platform KS Academy (academy.katharinastix.at) in order to check whether the order contains an online course. If the order does not contain a course, the transmitted data is immediately discarded and not stored; no account is created and no email regarding the course platform is sent. Only if the order contains at least one online course will a user account be created for you on the learning platform, or the purchased course be assigned to your existing account. Details on data processing on the learning platform can be found in the section "Privacy Policy — KS Academy" below. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (technically efficient provision of course access).

Last updated: July 5, 2026
The following information supplements the Privacy Policy above and applies to our online learning platform, KS Academy, available at https://academy.katharinastix.at (the "Learning Platform"). The Learning Platform is a closed members-only platform offering video courses. Open registration is not possible: a user account is created automatically through the purchase of an online course in our shop (katharinastix.at) or is set up for you manually by us.
Data Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on the Learning Platform is:
Katharina Stix Make-up & Hair Katharina Stix Franz-Josef-Straße 15 8700 Leoben, Austria Email: info@katharinastix.at
What Personal Data Do We Process on the Learning Platform?
In connection with your use of the Learning Platform, we process the following categories of personal data:
- Account and contact data (first and last name, email address): to create and manage your user account, for login, to communicate with you, and to assign your purchases to your account. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
- Login data: Login is passwordless, using a one-time code or login link ("magic link") sent to your email address. You do not set a password. During the login process, your IP address and browser identifier may be recorded in security and access logs. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (enabling login) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (security of the login process).
- Learning progress (last-watched position in a video, "completed" status): so that you can resume courses where you left off and view your progress. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
- Course assignment and purchase data (unlocked courses, order number, quantity, source of access): to control access to the courses you have purchased and to reverse access in the event of a refund. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
- Deletion log: When an account is deleted, we store the email address of the deleted person and the time of deletion. This serves to protect against misuse and as evidence that the deletion has taken place. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in protection against misuse and record-keeping).
- Technical access data / server logs (IP address, time of access, page accessed, browser information): for the operation, security, and delivery of the Learning Platform. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation).
The Learning Platform itself does not use any tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, or profiling.
Recipients of Data / Service Providers Used
To provide the Learning Platform, we use the following service providers as processors or recipients:
Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA): database, login system, and server-side logic of the Learning Platform. The data listed above is processed. Hosting takes place in the EU (Frankfurt am Main, Germany). We have entered into a data processing agreement with Supabase pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Where, in individual cases, data is transferred to the USA, such transfer is safeguarded by appropriate guarantees pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). Further information: supabase.com/legal/dpa
Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA): hosting and delivery of the web app, including a content delivery network (CDN). The data processed includes your IP address and technical access data. Server functions are executed in the EU (Frankfurt am Main); static content is delivered via the CDN worldwide from the nearest location. We have entered into a data processing agreement with Vercel pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Where data is transferred to third countries, such transfer is safeguarded by appropriate guarantees pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR. Further information: vercel.com/legal/dpa
Brevo (Brevo SAS, France): sending of transactional emails (e.g., login codes, welcome email) and maintenance of course-related contact lists. The data processed includes your email address, first and last name, and an internal contact ID. Hosting takes place in the EU (France/Germany); individual sub-processors may also be located outside the EU. We have entered into a data processing agreement with Brevo pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Further information: brevo.com/legal/termsofuse
When you purchase a course (or when your account is created manually), your contact is automatically added to a course-specific contact list in Brevo (and removed again upon deletion or refund). We use these lists exclusively for communication with course participants as part of the purchased course (e.g., information about and invitations to online meetings, organizational matters) — not for advertising or newsletters. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., USA): hosting and delivery of the course videos via an embedded video player, as well as of the preview images (thumbnails). Preview images of the videos are loaded from Vimeo's content delivery network as soon as you open the course overview; in the process, your IP address and technical browser data are transmitted to Vimeo. The video player itself is only loaded when you open a lesson and runs in "Do Not Track" mode; when a video is played, your IP address and device and browser data are transmitted to Vimeo. Vimeo processes data in the USA. This transfer is safeguarded by appropriate guarantees pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (Vimeo's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the purchased course videos). Further information: vimeo.com/legal/privacy/policy
Shopify: The purchase data that triggers the unlocking of a course originates from our shop (katharinastix.at). Data processing in the shop is governed by the Privacy Policy above, in particular the section "Relationship with Shopify." For technical reasons, all paid shop orders are automatically transmitted to the Learning Platform, where it is checked whether the order contains a course. Orders that do not contain a course are immediately discarded and not stored; no account is created and no email is sent.
Cookies and Local Storage
The Learning Platform uses only technically necessary and functional cookies and local storage elements:
- sb-amiaiwcprpskrfkmfldu-auth-token (may be split into "…-auth-token.0" / ".1" if large) — technically necessary — login/session ("stay logged in") — duration: 400 days (set by Supabase)
- sb-amiaiwcprpskrfkmfldu-auth-token-code-verifier — technically necessary — securing the login process (PKCE) — duration: 400 days (set by Supabase)
- sidebar_state — functional — stores the state of the sidebar (expanded/collapsed) — duration: 7 days
- Local storage "selectedCourseId" — functional — stores the most recently selected course
The durations set by Supabase are subject to change; the current information provided by Supabase applies.
Third-party cookies set by the Vimeo player: When videos are played, the embedded Vimeo player sets its own third-party cookies (e.g., "__cf_bm" from Cloudflare for bot detection and security). The type and duration of these cookies are determined by Vimeo. The player is only loaded when a lesson is opened. Further information can be found in Vimeo's privacy and cookie notices.
Retention Period and Deletion
Your data on the Learning Platform is stored for as long as your user account exists. When your account is deleted, your account, your course assignments, and your learning progress are deleted from the database; only your email address and the time of deletion remain in the deletion log (see above). In addition, we retain data to the extent required by statutory retention obligations. You may request the deletion of your account at any time using the contact details provided below.
Your Rights
With respect to the personal data processed on the Learning Platform, you are entitled to the same rights as those described in the section "Your Rights and Choices" of the Privacy Policy above (in particular access, rectification, erasure, data portability, objection, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority). To exercise your rights, please contact us using the contact details provided below.
